Now matter how hard you try to tell me otherwise, I will always be convinced that fall broccoli is better than spring broccoli. At least, I firmly believe that in my growing zone – it could be different elsewhere. If I’m being totally honest, I hadn’t even planned on growing broccoli this spring until I was gifted with a packet. True to form, I couldn’t resist winter sowing broccoli for just a small harvest from the garden in the spring.
When told to eat my broccoli, I do it. But I don’t do it without a fight. I’m basically a child that is being forced to sit at the dinner table until I have finished everything on my plate. Luckily, there are plenty of delicious options in terms of ways to prepare broccoli where I actually start to like it.
The process of winter sowing broccoli is insanely easy. In fact, I have several videos for it on my YouTube channel. Like everything else the demonstrated some tolerance to the cold, I begin winter sowing the seeds into containers around the end of January and into February. As this is being posted, the seeds have already germinated, and are well on their way to making really healthy plants.
Have you ever winter sown broccoli seeds? Did you have success? I would love to hear all about it in the comments below!
