First Bouquet of the Season! Hyacinths and English Daisies!

I feel like it has been so long since I’ve made a bouquet using flowers that are fresh from the garden. Today, we’re back in the swing of things with the first official bouquet of the 2019 season. I’m definitely out of practice. With the combination of limited flowers blooming and limited colors, I’m not so sure that this little jar of flowers turned out so great. However, the scent was absolutely enchanting.

The hyacinth flowers were an impulse buy that I made last fall and were simply labeled as “Shade of Pink”. As it would turn out, the actually shades of pink were very limited to the one color your see above. Oh well, they still smell amazing.

I’m also using some small muscari, or grape hyacinth, stems in this bouquet. Overall, I only have about 25 muscari plants. I love the vibrant blue color.

I also decided to try using the English daisy flowers in this arrangements. English daisies are completely new to me. These did okay in the vase, but quickly wilted within the day. I’d love to hear if anyone has any tips or tricks to make them last longer as cut flowers.

I also added a couple branches of bachelor’s buttons for foliage. I had zero foliage blooming in the garden at the time, so I needed to improvise.
