Orange You Glad I Picked These Flowers? Get it — Aren’t You Glad?!

I was going to start this post off with a knock-knock joke, but ultimately, I decided against it. Oranges in the garden are here and making a huge statement. In fact, this orange flower vase turned out to be one of the prettiest ones that I’ve made in a long time. Let’s take a closer look at the flowers that went into it, shall we?

The star of this arrangement are the ‘Olivia’ double tulips and these bright orange ranunculus. These ranunculus actually came in a very cheap “value pack” that I found at my local home improvement store. Though the stems were a little short, they definitely made up for that fact in color. When I say bright orange, I seriously mean BRIGHT.

I absolutely love the dimension that the Olivia tulips add. I especially like the bright yellow color towards the center of the bloom. These particular flowers were starting to look a little rough, as they had been stored in my spare fridge for almost four weeks.

Last, but not least, I added some fresh mint for greenery and some orange ‘Victorian Posy’ pansies. I think the pansies were the perfect way to really tie everything together. The only down side to using pansies is that the stems are quite short. Perhaps next year, I’ll find another cultivar with longer stems. Thanks so much for reading!
