Cafe Picotee Ranunculus and the Mysterious Brownie Tulips – Magical!

It’s that time again! Time to gather around the dirty, moldy storage area of my yard and make another flower arrangement. Now, I realize I’ve been totally saturating the blog with posts. However, that’s what it’s for! I better keep posting now while I’m ahead!

As with so many of our cut flower arrangements this season, we’re going to start with the Brownie tulips. Allegedly, the variety is Brownie. I really, really don’t think that they are. This happens more often that I like to admit. It seems like some bulb suppliers don’t even care, as long as you’re buying product. Oh well.

Next, we snip some super long stems of ‘Cafe Picotee’ ranunculus. I bought these from Longfield Gardens, and they 100% appear as advertised. As they continue to bloom, I see so many different variations and shades from one flower to the next. The purple-red undertones are so pretty. Even though I wasn’t sure about it at first, I definitely want to grow this one again.

Since we’re still running low on greenery around here, I’m using branches from my mulberry tree. Mulberry branches can be fickle, and don’t always work. However, I find that searing the end of the small twig with a flame usually does the trick to keep them from wilting.

Here’s a closer look at those colors! So vibrant, so much yes.

That’s it! Another super simple flower arrangement. It’s only a few different types of plants, but overall, I think it looks pretty dang good. What do you think? I’d love to hear all about it in the comments below! Hope you’re having an awesome day!
