When I first purchased the Islander dahlia, I knew that there was great potential. By nature, I’m always drawn to huge dahlias. This, in combination with the color, made this selection ideal. After my first season, I was certainly not disappointed.
As you can see, the plants produced an amazing amount of flowers. Thanks to their large size, taking good photos of Islander dahlia flowers actually proved to be quite difficult.
Though the color of the Islander dahlia seemed to fade and change somewhat with the weather, most of the blooms have a slight hint of yellow in the center.
The ruffled, frilly petals make the flowers look so delicate. However, the stems were long, strong, and perfect for using as cut flowers.
Have you ever grown Islander dahlia before? I would love to hear all about it in the comments below. Thank you so much for reading!
