If I’ve learned anything over my years of gardening, it’s that you should expect the unexpected. Very often, gardeners receive flower bulbs that turn out to be something other than what they had anticipated. Such is the case of Ferncliff Illusion dahlia in this post.
I had originally ordered Mom’s Special dahlia. However, once the blooms came – it was clear. Thanks to the help of readers like you, I was able to identify this one. Even though it’s not what I wanted, I’m not disappointed. I really, really like this dahlia.
Each plant bloomed extremely well all season long, and produced plenty of strong stems for cut flowers. I should also mention that the various patterns of purple and white are both pretty and quite interesting. I’ll definitely be keeping this dahlia for future growing seasons.
Have you ever grown Ferncliff Illusion dahlia before? I’d love to hear all about your experiences in the comments below! Thank you so much for stopping by the blog!
