With a name like this, I’ll admit that I was somewhat hesitant to purchase ‘Lingerie’ daffodil bulbs last year. Okay, I’m totally joking! I always love plants and flowers with fun variety names and this one was no exception. I was really eager to add to my collection of double daffodils and it seemed like a perfect fit for the empty space at the end of my flower bed.
When the ‘Lingerie’ daffodil flowers started to open, I was very surprised by their immense size. These blooms turned out to be among the largest in my flower patch. As you can see from the photo above, the outer petals are a lovely clean white and the center is a nice blend of yellow-orange.
Even though the flowers are very large, the stems hold the blooms upright and straight. My plants were able to handle several different thunderstorms and multiple rain days without issue – a characteristic that I truly prize.
Every site that I’ve read says that the ‘Lingerie’ daffodil flowers are fragrant. Unfortunately, I could not notice any scent at all from my flowers. Have you ever grown ‘Lingerie’ daffodils before? If so, I’d love to hear all about your experiences in the comment section below. Thank you so much for stopping by the blog!
Those are so pretty, definitely adding to my wishlist. LOL at typing the name in the search bar. 🙂 I found them at a couple of online retailers. Some are double, so will probably choose those.
