For a period of about 4 days this spring, my garden was absolutely washed with rain. Without doubt, this long period of time took its toll on my tulip bed. As you can be see from the photo above, very few flowers were actually able to withstand the less than ideal weather. During that time, the ‘Bowl of Beauty’ tulip grew to be especially tall.
The ‘Bowl of Beauty’ double tulip really is the perfect shade of pastel yellow that I’ve been looking for in the cut flower garden. Unlike ‘Akebono’, this tulip’s color is soft and subtle.
Though not as fully double as many other varieties, I was still more than satisfied with this plant’s height and with the fullness of the bloom. What do you think? Have you ever grown ‘Bowl of Beauty’ tulip before? I’d love to hear more about your experiences in the comment section below. Thank you so much for stopping by the blog!
