Though I am absolutely charmed by most pastel colored tulips, I can’t deny that there is a certain mysterious allure to very deep and dark blooms. ‘Black Parrot’ tulips seemed to be an excellent example of that in this year’s garden. Though I had only purchased a small package of bulbs, there was no denying the dramatic statement that the bulbs were able to make!
Though each variety of parrot tulip is a little bit different from the next, I simply can’t get enough of the feathery texture of these petals. ‘Black Parrot’ tulips look undeniably untamed – I love it!
Though I didn’t pick any of the ‘Black Parrot’ tulips for cut flower arrangements this year, I did bring this vase into the house with me. Even though I plucked them from the garden much later than I should have, the vase life was still quite good. I would definitely grow ‘Black Parrot’ tulip again in the future. What do you think? Have you ever grown ‘Black Parrot’ tulip before? If so, I’d love to hear all about your experiences in the comment section below. Thank you so much for stopping by the blog!
I love them! In the one photo, they almost look edible!!
They are so dramatic! The stems are especially pretty in that arrangement.
