Very similar to the ‘Lion King’ Dutch Iris that I’ve already shown here on the blog, ‘Autumn Princess’ Dutch iris are a very unique shade of brown and green. As you can see from the photos, ‘Autumn Princess’ Dutch iris plants have much more variation in color on each of the flower’s petals. Still, the falls of the bloom are a bright and cheery yellow color.
Though the name can be confusing, ‘Autumn Princess’ actually bloomed in early spring. I can only assume that the name relates to the plant’s very fall-like color combinations. Unfortunately, I was unable to take photos of the plant before the growing bed was hit with a really odd late season snow storm.
What do you think? Have you ever grown ‘Autumn Princess’ Dutch iris before? If so, I’d love to hear all about your experiences in the comment section below. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit the blog. I hope that you’re having a wonderful day!
