‘Eye of the Tiger’ Dutch Iris

In continuing the trial of this year’s new-to-me Dutch iris varieties, we come one called ‘Eye of the Tiger.’ ‘Eye of the Tiger’ Dutch iris is a surprisingly dark and mysterious looking bloom. Unlike the pure blue iris that we’ve already seen, this flower opens with intense shades of dark blue/purple.

As with a lot of blue flowers, capturing the true color of the bloom was very difficult. However, I think the photo above does the best job of showing how the color actually appeared in my flower bed.

Have you ever grown ‘Eye of the Tiger’ Dutch iris before? What did you think? I’d love to hear all about your experiences in the comment section below. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit the blog. I hope that you’re having an amazing day!
