FULL TOUR: Asiatic Lilies – SUMMER 2021

Over the last year, I’ve really wanted to focus on getting back into growing flower bulbs. When making a last minute bulb purchase this spring, I decided to add three types of Asiatic lilies to my shopping cart.

The ‘Pink Brush’ Asiatic lily was the first variety to begin flowering this summer. Initially the bloom is a very faint pink-white color with splashes of a darker pink magenta color. As the bloom ages, the colors get a little bit dark.

I also grew ‘Blackstone’ lilies. Though dark colors in the garden usually aren’t my favorite, I really liked how dark and dramatic these colors were!

Last, but not least, was the ‘Royal Sunset’ lily. This one looked quite a bit different in person when compared to the pictures in the catalogs that I’ve been. Still, it was an interesting addition to the garden. I can’t wait to continue growing these lilies in the future. Have you ever grown Asiatic lilies? If so, I’d love to hear all about your experiences in the comment section below. Thank you so much for visiting the blog.
