The Arrival of More Oriental Lilies – Mystery Lilies in the Garden

By focusing on a lot of different summer flowering bulbs this year, I was eager to see what the different varieties of lilies that I selected would look like. As it would turn out, unfortunately, many of them were mislabeled. In this post, I’ll focus on some of the varieties that remain a mystery here in the backyard garden.

The second variety of lily to bloom this year was this very lovely yellow one. Though I didn’t order a variety called ‘Yelloween’ oriental lily, this is currently my best guess at the plant’s true identity.

These lilies were supposed to be pink, but I’m thinking that these are more than likely ‘Zambesi’ oriental lilies. Since this is the first year for lilies, I’ve really enjoyed just letting them bloom in the garden and then deadheading them. Hopefully, the plants will be much taller and fuller next season. Thanks so much for stopping by the blog!
