I always love finding new varieties, specifically ones that I haven’t seen any one else grow. I added a packet of ‘Astra Gold’ sunflowers to my most recent Baker Creek order, and am quite pleased.
‘Astra Gold’ sunflowers have a very unique form. I would best describe them as “messy.” This attribute makes them a great addition to arrangements when you need to add a little bit of texture.
Though these are technically a type of branching sunflower, I didn’t specifically notice that the plant was producing multiple blooms.
I would definitely grow ‘Astra Gold’ again. What do you think? Have you ever grown ‘Astra Gold’ sunflower? I’d love to hear all about your experiences down in the comment section below. Thank you so much for visiting the blog!
