In Bloom: ‘Ben Venuto’ Gladiolus

Though I had initially wanted to conduct a gladiolus trial this year, I found myself disappointed by the substitutions within the order I had made. Still, some of these varieties have grown as anticipated. ‘Ben Venuto’ gladiolus was one such variety!

Most catalogs that I’ve seen indicate that ‘Ben Venuto’ gladiolus are pink. They’re definitely pink…but they are such a lovely shade! Balancing between pastel pink and salmon, I can easily imagine this cultivar becoming one of my favorites.

Since I wanted to grow a wide range of types, I only ordered 10-20 corms of each variety. In the future, I think I will definitely want to order more of these. The hummingbirds seem to really love them, as well.

I always love to take close-up photos of flowers. As you can see, each of the petals have a bit of a ruffled edge that adds a really gorgeous texture.

What do you think? Have you ever grown ‘Ben Venuto’ gladiolus before? I’d love to hear all about your experiences down in the comment section below. Thank you so much for stopping by the blog!
