  • Bare Root Strawberries Have Finally Arrived for Planting

    Back in February, I decided that I would finally order some more bare root strawberries. Strawberries are one of the first things that I ever grew. Unfortunately, at the time I had planted them near my neighbor’s yard. He would consistently come into the yard in the middle of the night and steal every single one of them. At one point, he harvested every single berry from over 500 plants. Ugh. Now that I’ve got a fence around the yard, I’ve decided to give them another try this year.   • It’s Time to Plant Lettuce, Technically.

    So, technically, today was the day that I had planned to plant my lettuce. In fact, there’s a rather large list of leafy green veggies that are cold tolerant and can be planted early in the spring – before the weather really has the chance to warm up too much. However, something tells me I’m just going to have to wait until the snow melts! I definitely can’t remember ever having this much snow so late in the season.
